In addition to a community gathering, QuakeCon is also a celebration. We belive that meeting face-to-face provides a level of enjoyment impossible online.

Our partner, id Software, provides a wealth of resources and support for the QuakeCon community as a "thank you" to the fans of their games. Together we provide the largest LAN event in North America, celebrating gaming and each other. It is quite a party!

I wish I lived in the Dallas area, I'd be there every year.  This definitely sounds like one great party to be at.
